One of the most controversial and talked about presidents of the United States to be ever in office, Bill Clinton is indeed a fascinating character. There is no denying that Clinton is a charismatic leader and he is never away from the media attention.  Although he has always been in the spotlight, there are certain things about Clinton that the public may not be aware of.

  1. Clinton’s father died in a car crash just 3 months before he was born.
  2. At 6 feet 2 inches, Clinton is a rather large man. The only presidents who were known to be taller than him were Lyndon B. Johnson, Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson.
  3. Clinton loves to play the sax. He played the instrument in a in a jazz trio named “Three Blind Mice” and still plays it to this date.
  4. Clinton is allergic to chocolate, milk and his own presidential cat, Socks Clinton.
  5. Bill Clinton is a two time Grammy winner. He grabbed a Gramy for the first time for narrating a retelling of “Peter and the Wolf” while in 2005, he again won a Grammy for reading his autobiography, “My Life.”
  6. Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton were the only American presidents to ever be successfully impeached in the history of United States of America. He was impeached in 1998 for lying about his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
  7. Bill Clinton’s favorite food were chicken enchiladas, jalapeño cheeseburgers, cinnamon rolls barbecue and pies. However, after suffering from heart problems and undergoing a bypass surgery, Clinton became completely vegan thus undergoing a complete body transformation.
  8. Before Bill Clinton took the name Clinton, he was known as William Jefferson Blythe. Blythe was the name of the father that Bill never knew. He was a travelling salesman who had a penchant for women and had been married a few times before settling down with Clinton’s mother – Virginia Cassidy.
  9. Bill Clinton likes his apples a little too much. He likes them so much that when he bites into them, he eats them whole including the core and the seeds. Living with his grandparents in Hope, Arkansas where they ran a grocery store, he picked up a few country habits and this one seems to have stuck with him right to this day.
  10. Clinton has admitted to smoking weed in his teenage days but is also quick to say that he “didn’t inhale”. However, he was a serious student and was not keen on anything that distracted him from his studies. He fares excellently throughout high school, received a number of scholarships and ended up in Yale where he met Hillary Rodham and secured a law degree.
  11. Clinton not only excelled in his studies he engaged in many extracurricular activities too. While in high school, he participated in a program by the local American Legion, named Boys Nation. Through this he was awarded a trip to Washington D. C where he had the chance to shake hands with President John F. Kennedy.
  12. Bill Clinton won 43% of the vote the first time that he ran for President and was only 46 years old when he was inaugurated. This made him the third youngest President of the United States. He held office for two terms, from January 20, 1993, until January 20, 2001
